Appointments System

Appointments for both doctors and nurses can be made by telephoning 01620 825051 between 08:00 and 18:00. Initial appointment with doctors will be by telephone. They may then invite you in for a face to face appointment.

For non-urgent appointments you will be offered a choice of day and doctor. Time is set aside every day for urgent telephone appointments. If you have an urgent medical problem we will make every effort to offer you an appointment that day with one of the doctors.

We offer telephone consultations after 17:30 three days per week. Please ask reception for more information.

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:00. Home visits are dealt with by a duty doctor and we cannot offer a choice of doctor.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from our practice list.

Training Practice

We are a training practice supervising doctors in training. These doctors are attached to the practice on a yearly basis.

They are fully qualified doctors who have several years experience of working as hospital doctors and are attached to the practice for training in general practice medicine.

On occassion the practice may ask if your consultation can be video recorded for training purposes.  This will not be undertaken without your consent and no intimate examination will be recorded. You may ask for the camera to be switched off at any time.
